What Our Customers Say

Hard Water and Plumbing Failures in Paradise Valley

Paradise Valley has no water utility of its own. The Town's Water Companies page lists four providers, EPCOR Water, City of Phoenix Water Services, City of Scottsdale Water and Berneil Water Company, and which one serves you depends on where your home sits. All of the published figures are hard water.

EPCOR's 2024 water quality report for its Paradise Valley system lists hardness of about 12 grains per gallon, which falls in EPCOR's own Very Hard band of above 10.5, and notes that EPCOR does not treat for hardness. Phoenix's 2025 report lists 10 to 17.6 grains per gallon, and Scottsdale's 2026 report lists 13 to 17. Mineral scale builds up inside water heaters, valves and fittings over time, and it is one reason a tank or a braided supply line can fail without much warning.

With a median build year of 1985, a good share of the town's plumbing has been carrying that hard water for a long time. We do not repair plumbing, but we see where it failed, and we photograph the failed part for your records before the plumber takes it away.

How burst pipe cleanup works

Burst Pipe Sources We Clean Up After in Paradise Valley

These are the plumbing failures behind most of our calls in town.

Water Heater Leak in Paradise Valley Homes

A large home with a guest house may have more than one water heater, sometimes in a garage or utility closet next to finished rooms. A leaking tank soaks the closet floor and the walls beside it.

Slab Leak Under Stone or Wood

A slab leak in Paradise Valley often shows up as a warm or damp spot in flooring, or a crack in grout. By then the water has spread under the floor in several directions.

Supply Lines and Appliances

Ice makers, dishwashers, wet bars and washing machine hoses fail at the fittings. In a long kitchen with an island and a butler's pantry, water can travel far under cabinets.

Toilets and Vanity Valves

A cracked toilet tank or a failed shut-off valve in a guest bath can run for days in a house that is not in daily use.

How We Handle Broken Pipe Water Damage in Paradise Valley

Our part begins once the water is off. If it is still running, close the main or the fixture valve and call your plumber, then call us.

  1. Step 1

    Confirm the Source Is Stopped

Drying a wall that is still taking on water wastes everyone's time, so our first look confirms the valve is closed or the line has been fixed.

  2. Step 2

    Extract Standing Water

Pumps and extractors take water off floors and out of carpet and rugs. Our water extraction page for Paradise Valley explains that step.

  3. Step 3

    Map Moisture Behind and Below

Readings show how far water moved inside walls, under cabinets and through the slab beyond the leak point.

  4. Step 4

    Remove What Cannot Be Dried

Swollen toe kicks, soaked insulation and saturated drywall come out. We explain each removal before we make it.

  5. Step 5

    Dry and Document

Air movers and dehumidifiers run until readings meet their goals. You receive photos, readings and a scope for your adjuster.

Signs of a Burst Pipe in Paradise Valley You Cannot See Yet

Many plumbing leaks in large homes are found by the damage, not the drip. Call if you notice:

  • A water bill higher than your usual pattern
  • A warm spot on a stone or tile floor
  • Cracked or darkened grout lines
  • Swollen baseboards or cabinet toe kicks
  • A musty smell in a closed guest suite
  • Water at the base of a water heater

We can find leaks hidden in walls and ceilings; slab leaks and every repair go to your plumber. Measuring and drying the damage around it is ours.

Seasonal Homes and Leaks Nobody Saw

The Census counts 295 housing units in Paradise Valley, 4.9 percent of the total, held for seasonal, recreational or occasional use. When a home or guest house sits closed through a summer, a small supply line drip can run for weeks. By the time someone opens the door, water may have reached flooring, lower walls and cabinetry across several rooms.

If you manage a home for an owner who is away, we work with you directly once the owner authorizes it, and we send the photos and readings they will want to see.

Before You Leave for the Season

  • Know where the main shut-off valve is
  • Ask your plumber about water heater condition
  • Arrange regular walk-throughs of every building
  • Keep our number with your house manager

Next Steps After a Burst Pipe

Once the water is out, the drying is what decides whether a burst pipe stays a water job or turns into a mold job. Our water mitigation page for Paradise Valley explains how we dry slabs, walls and cabinets and how we prove they are dry.
